A collection of black and white portraits of the plant kingdom as seen through the lens of photographer and historian Miguel Winograd, accompanied by essay by Enrique Ramírez.
Book includes a c-print signed by author.
“In the last few years, I have been studying classic analog black-and-white photographic techniques. The limitations that the process imposes on my photographic practice confer a degree of discipline to the act of seeing, and framing forms, tonalities, and textures. These landscapes are like little mysteries for me, the traces of stories that are about to happen, or that happened a long time ago. I suppose they are annotations on the territory’s murmurs, or its echoes on my own imagination. Perhaps they are also a means of seeking roots, the mirages seen from an endless, itinerant wandering.”
